Drosone

DROSONE 10mg tablets are soluble, pink, flat tablets marked with the imprint “HS 10”.

DROSONE contains 10 mg hydrocortisone formulated into soluble tablets.

Cortisol is produced in the zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex within the adrenal gland, from its precursor cortisone that is inactive till its conversion to hydrocortisone.

Hydrocortisone belongs to the short-acting glucocorticoids with a mean duration of action of 8-12 hours.

The therapeutic action of hydrocortisone was firstly observed by William Osler (1896).

Hydrocortisone is included in the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.

DROSONE is a product of research and development conducted in Greece that resulted in two patents. It is also approved in Italy and the UK. It is manufactured in Greece under certified GMP conditions.

Way of administration

DROSONE soluble tablets should be dissolved in (at least) 50 ml water before use.

After dissolution, it should be ingested immediately.

The start and termination of treatment with DROSONE, should be under a physician’s guidelines.
